John Calvin’s faithful friend and successor in Geneva and notable Reformer in his own right was born in Vezelay, France on this day in 1519. John Calvin writing in 1551 in a letter to a French woman had this to say about his dear friend and successor: “God has endowed him with excellent gifts.
