The concealed carry ammendment would have allowed citizens who are already authorized to carry firearms concealed to do so when they travel out of state.Senator Thune pointed out that, while 48 states have some form of concealed carry law, his measure would simply "extend that constitutional right across State lines," recognizing that the right to bear arms and defend oneself "does not end at State borders or State lines." A prior Unanimous Consent agreement allowed the amendment to be offered in the first place, but as such, required that the legislation garner 60 votes (rather than a simple majority) in order to pass. Update on birth certificate
So far the Hawaii hospital where Obama was supposedly born claimed they no longer had birth certificates from 1961. However the birth certificates of two twins were found born the day after Obama’s “birthday”. ON examination the certificates are quite close but don’t match in certain numbers, for instance Obama’s certificate says 1961 and there’s says only 61 suggesting counterfeit papers. Also, while their long form (detailed) birth certificates are made available Obama’s is for some reason still unattainable. Read details

While every Democrat on the Senate Judiciary Committee voted in favor of Judge Sonia Sotomayor today, almost every Republican voted against her... all except for turncoat Lindsey Graham of South Carolina.
